Straight Answers From The Guy Who Builds Them

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything customers ask about kits, panels, shipping, warranties, installation and assembly — answered plainly.

Are sign faces and panels included with the kit?

No. Sign faces and graphics are not included with the standard DIY kit. High-definition printed graphics are available separately through our DIY Graphics page.

What comes in a DIY sign kit?

A prepared aluminum frame cut to your size with LEDs mounted inside, plus a 12-volt power supply and internal wiring hardware as listed in your written quote.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Our kits are prepared for customers across the United States. International shipping is not always available — contact us with your project details and we'll tell you straight.

Are DIY sign kits UL listed?

No. DIY Sign Guy cannot UL list a DIY kit. Please check with your local township and follow all applicable sign, zoning, electrical, inspection and installation guidelines before placing your order.

Do you install the sign?

No — that's how you save. You or your contractor handle installation. We recommend a qualified electrician for the electrical hookup, and project-specific engineering, permits and inspections where required.

Why are panels purchased locally?

Large rigid panels are expensive to freight and easy to source from a local plastics supplier — buying them near you usually saves real money.

Do I pay before you build?

Yes. Kits are prepared to order, so prepayment is required before fabrication begins.

What warranty comes with the kit?

Frame and LED-system warranties are parts-only, as described in your written quote.

Can I mount a wall-sign kit on a pole?

No — never. Wall-mount kits must never be pole mounted. Pole and pylon projects need the correct cabinet and internal mounting structure. See our Pole / Pylon Kits page.

How much skill does assembly take?

If you can follow instructions and turn a wrench, you can assemble a prepared kit — no sign-building experience required, and guidance is part of the deal.

Can you help with a monument-sign project?

Often, yes — but monument projects vary, so each design gets reviewed first. Send your project details through the contact page.

Safety first: wall-mount kits must never be pole mounted, use a qualified electrician for hookup, and follow project-specific engineering, permit and inspection requirements in your area.
