Finding a problem the day a box shows up is a phone call; finding it with a crew standing on a ladder is a lost day.
Where to put it. Ohio freeze-thaw is nothing to aluminum, but the LEDs and the power supply travel in the same boxes, so keep them indoors until install day. If you are assembling in an unheated garage in February, give cold parts time to warm up first.

Your kit is cut to a size, welded, and pre-lit before it ships, so the size has to be right the first time. In Dublin that means three phone calls before you order, not after.
1. Ask what you're allowed
Start with the City of Dublin's building and zoning counters — Dublin writes stricter design standards than most Columbus suburbs, and the Bridge Street District and other corridor overlays add design review on top of the size limits. 3. Ask about engineering and wiring
Ohio's building code is statewide but enforced by certified local departments, and Dublin's review is more thorough than most. Larger signs commonly need plan approval, a freestanding or pole sign typically needs a footing design sealed by an Ohio-registered engineer, and the lighting generally needs its own electrical permit.
